Summer is almost here! And I am so stinkin’ excited. It is seriously the best time of year for me. Warm weather and sunshine definitely does my mind and body good.
I find it often that friends and family are lax on their summer planning and goal setting. Not me. While I limit my goals to just a few, I still make them and work hard to reach them.
This summer is no different. I have three specific goals over the next couple of months.
Check them out below!
one | read
Before triplets I read 3 or 4 books a month. After triplets I was lucky to read a book a year. The last couple of years it’s been two books. This year I plan on reading at least three.
I’ve already started two of them – The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand and Ask Again, Yes by Mary Beth Keane. Both are ridiculously good!
Anyone else read more than one book at a time? No? Just me?
two | get rid of crap
For the last few years I have worked hard on minimizing and simplifying my home and life. I have done well, but somehow just a bunch of crap that I don’t need has sneaked back in my home. It’s gotta go.
For me so much stuff equals chaos and chaos equals an unhappy household. This summer I plan on getting rid of at least a bag a week of things I no longer use (so many clothes), no longer need, and things that just cause clutter.
This has really been my M.O. for 3 years or so, but slowed down significantly last fall when I started working part time. I’m not working now, so let the purging begin again! And as always, 99% of our things will be donated to our local food and clothing bank.
three | relax
When I’m not de-cluttering my home, helping fill up water balloons or breaking up fights between my kids, you’ll find me relaxing outside this summer. If there is anything I need in this life, it is to rest and rejuvenate. It won’t quite be me time, but it’ll do. Especially if I have one of these hammocks to lounge in!
Do you have goals for this summer? Let me know about them in the comments! I’m working on setting a few goals for my kids too. Look for that post coming up soon!
