If I’m being honest, I am a mom that hates to cook. Most days I don’t even think about what to make for dinner until my husband calls on his way home from work to ask what’s for dinner. As if that isn’t bad enough, most nights I just throw together something that ends up tasting disgusting and everyone complains about it. Mom (and wife) fail.
Recently I noticed that Walmart has a huge variety of vegan and vegetarian frozen products as well as items for those with other specialty diets. Although no one in our family abides by those eating habits, I do think about purchasing dairy-free desserts or keto-friendly meals because I want my family to eat better.
Normally, these types of foods I steer clear of because of the cost. These items, though are all at an amazing value that this family of five can afford.
I want to feed my family meals that are easy to prepare while still having a delicious and health-conscious meal on the table. So, my last Walmart grocery haul completely changed with these six new items to our mealtime repertoire.
Comfort food is the best food, right?! These microwavable meals are ideal for weeknight dinners. They’re quick to make, delicious, and meat-free.
They’re great for vegetarians, flexitarians, or someone who just loves a good pot pie – like me!
Amy’s Mac & Cheese and Amy’s Kitchen Pizza
My kids love macaroni and cheese. I wasn’t sure how they would react to Amy’s new Gluten-Free Mac & 3 Cheese with Cauliflower Bowl. But, they loved it too. This is serious comfort food made easy – just a few minutes in the microwave!
Amy’s also has a new Cheese Veggie Crust Pizza made with an organic cauliflower, broccoli, and sweet potato crust. It’s perfect for my picky eaters – they don’t know all the veggies they’re getting in every bite!
Good Food Made Simple Cauliflower Kung Pao and French Toast
Delish, simple, lower in sodium, and high in protein, Good Food Made Simple’s Cauliflower Kung Pao entrée is by far my new favorite. It’s faster than take-out and fits almost any dietary lifestyle. My husband was hesitant in trying it, but he’s already asking when I’ll make it for dinner again.
Quick weekday breakfasts are a plus for our chaotic mornings. They’re ready in seconds and have 13 grams of protein and 40grams of whole grains per serving. This french toast is definitely the kid’s top breakfast pick.
We’ve been known to indulge in some not so healthy desserts after dinner that sometimes leaves our tummies in a knot. Now, with So Delicious® Mocha Almond Fudge Bars we can indulge in rich, creamy, dairy-free deliciousness without the worry of an upset stomach.
Did I mention that they are certified vegan and a part of the B-Corp™ community? This means So Delicious® sets high standards of social and environmental performance proving there is a better way to do business.”
I think it’s safe to say grocery hauls from now on are going to be much different. As long as Walmart keeps our new favorites in stock, meals (and dessert) are going to be much different too. Shop them here!
