The Ultimate Guide to Everything Succulents

I love succulents. I quickly jumped on the bandwagon and haven’t looked back. They are literally the only plant I can keep alive. Or should I say, could keep alive? 

I managed to keep 3 beautiful hens and chickens, sunbursts, and rufescens that I was gifted the last few Mother’s Days alive for years. 

They did not like the winter inside this year, though. Needless to say, they are no more. I mentioned that I love succulents. In my fondness for them, I somehow managed to not learn how to properly take care of them. Did I water too much? Not enough? Did they need more sunlight? In the end, I’m not sure the reason they died.

What I do know is that I have been reading more about them, specifically how to better care for the plants I have a passion for.  

So, I thought I’d share with you what I have learned about watering, providing sunlight, propagation, and temperature. And I’ve included a few cute ways to display them too!


Any of various plants having fleshy leaves or stems that store water. Cacti and the jade plant are succulents. Succulents are usually adapted to drier environments and display other characteristics that reduce water loss, such as waxy coatings on leaves and stout, rounded stems.
