It’s School Photo Day | I’ll Show You Mine If You Show Me Yours

It’s school photo day! In honor of the triplets first picture day I thought I’d share my school photo day journey with you!

My 5-year-old triplets like to remind me of my age by saying “way back in the 80’s” this or “100 years ago in the 80’s” that. I like to remind them that the 80’s were a fantastic time to be a kid. We could play outside or walk our dog down the street without having the cops called on our parents. And…we had amazing hair!

I so love that I have these pics to look back on and think “hey, I was totally not fat” or laugh until I cry or just ugly cry. I miss school. Is that weird? I grew up in a small town that I still adore and would move back there in a second if it were possible. How amazing would it be for my kiddos to go to school in the same place as me?! Anyway…

The only pictures I couldn’t find were from 1st and 4th grade. And that’s a total shame because I was completely adorable in 1st-grade and I wore a sweet paisley/floral print vest in my 4th-grade photo. Yes, I totally remember what I was wearing.

Follow me on a trip down memory lane with this super slideshow.

So…I showed you mine. Now show me yours. Comment on this Facebook post with your best (or worst) school picture and you could win a Starbucks gift card from me!

I cannot wait to see them!

  1. While we did not have individual photos taken for each school year, there were definitely class photos taken (and somehow those were the days i looked positively ill – poor girl, what happened to her type of look:) )
this one you have posted is cute…

  2. You look adorable in your school photo book! I sometimes stumble upon my photo from the 1st grade and I love it! I am smiling, at my desk with my favorite toy, Snoopy, in my hands 🙂

  3. Aww, You are so cute when you are a child. Nothing compares a photo of your childhood. I really can’t imagine how I look like when I was on that age.

  4. haha I love it – I have an eight month old and it’s hard to imagine her growing up and being old enough to take school pictures. As for mine, I’ll have to dig up the archives at my mom’s house – LOL

  5. How adorable! My kids are grown now but I must admit around this time of year I get a little nostalgic. I miss those days as crazy and hectic as they were! Fun memories 🙂

  6. This is the cutest idea! I need to dig through some old photo albums and find some school pics so I can win that gift card!

  7. I was a baby in the 80s. Mid 80s at that but I bet it was fun being an 80s kid and I know I will feel like you when I have kids and go down memory lane about being a kid in the 90s!
