Getting Back in the Back to School Bedtime Routine with Natrol

It’s that time, friends. The time I absolutely dread – getting back into the back to school bedtime routine. I have to admit I let bedtime routine slip over the summer. And by slip I mean, we didn’t have one.

Now, I am regretting that decision. School starts next week and my kiddos don’t appreciate going to bed while the sun is still up!

Luckily, I discovered the new Natrol Kids Melatonin Gummies and Natrol Melatonin Fast Dissolve Tablets for my husband and me. We need to get back into our family routine too.

A good night’s sleep has been a challenge for my triplets since they were toddlers. Even though we’ve had a strict daily routine with them since birth, it bedtime is still the worst.  At age two we’d let them fall asleep in our bed and then put them in their cribs. When they were big enough for toddler beds we’d have to stay in the room with them until they were asleep. It got better at age 4, but now, at 6 years old, they still have trouble not only falling asleep but staying asleep too.

Recently, I started giving the kids Natrol Kids Melatonin Gummies about 20 minutes before bedtime. The sleep changes in the kids have been amazing.

Normally, after getting in their pajamas, brushing teeth, and then laying down in bed it would take them a long time (sometimes an hour!) to settle down to sleep. Now, they’re asleep in 10 minutes. Seriously. By next week our bedtime routine should be a breeze!

Natrol is the #1 melatonin brand in America, helping millions of people sleep each year**.  Recently they launched a gently formulated Kids Melatonin product, recommended for kids ages four and up, to help safely and effectively promote restful and healthy sleep.

The kids appreciate that Natrol Kids Melatonin comes in both kid-friendly Fast Dissolve tablets and Gummies. They are also non-GMO, vegetarian and free of artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

I appreciate that melatonin is pediatrician-recommended*, 100% drug-free, and non-habit forming.

Natrol’s Fast Dissolve form enables faster absorption and can be taken anytime, anywhere without the need for water. Natrol Melatonin Gummies are non-GMO, vegetarian, free of artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

A Few Sleep Tips from Pediatrician and Sleep Expert Dr. Tanya Altmann

one | avoid stimulation

Avoid stimulating activities such as television and video games an hour before bedtime as they can make it harder for a child to fall asleep.  This is easier said than done for us!

two | routines are important

She recommends trying to keep the same bedtime routine as much as possible, limit routine to 45 minutes and be consistent.

three | try a melatonin supplement

If you’ve tried everything under the sun and are still having challenges, Dr. Altmann recommends talking to your pediatrician about a melatonin supplement like new Natrol Kids Melatonin.

Do you have any sleep challenges of your own? Or with your kids? How about routines? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!

It is important to note that melatonin is meant to be a short-term solution for occasional sleeplessness to re-establish healthy sleep patterns. For specific dosing instructions, or if your child is below the age of four, please consult your pediatrician.
