Fall is my favorite. So, needless to say, our yearly tradition of a fall family photo shoot makes me ridiculously giddy and boundlessly grateful.
Giddy because although it can be stressful, I love spending weeks picking out our outfits. Since we started this tradition 5 years ago, I have not used the same color scheme twice. Today, 4 days before this year’s shoot, I did change our outfits completely, though!
Grateful because there was a time in my life I wasn’t sure I’d have a family at all. If you’re not familiar with our story, my husband and I conceived triplets through IVF as a last resort to start the children we so wanted.
This weekend will be the 6th October we’ve had our fall photos taken at my in-law’s pumpkin patch. There’s pretty much no other place I’d want to have the shoot. It’s so beautiful out there.
In the past years, there have been tears. It’s been windy and cold. It’s been hot. And there has been stress, but lots of laughs too. This year, there will be fewer teeth (the kids, not me or the hubs!) and hopefully more fun.
I can’t wait to show you the results my most favorite fall tradition – our family photo shoot.
Until then, check out the last 5 years…
Do you have a favorite fall tradition? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
